How we are Inclusive Conscious
-
Crew T shirts
Everyone working on Robyn’s Rocket has a yellow or black Crew T Shirt with the crew logo, this is so artists/musicians and the audience know who they can ask for help should they need it.
-
Shapes and colours
Written and spoken English is not accessible to everyone. Each artist has a shape and colour, your shape and colour will be on the timetable, merch table and on the stage.
-
rocket badges
everyone at Robyn’s Rocket is given a rocket badges, Rocket badges are used to show how much communication each person wants with other people;
Up = happy to talk to everyone,
Sideways= I only want to talk to people I know,
Down = please don’t speak to me. You can change your rocket badge position as much as you like.
-
Disabled artist led
Led by a disabled artist and including disabled artists as equals alongside non disabled artists.
-
Sensory Needs
We lend out ear defenders and sunglasses, and provide free ear plugs, as some people can feel overwhelmed with sound and light.
-
Merch Table
We try to make it part of Going to the gig. We handle payments for you and give you, your money at the end of the gig, we do not take a percentage or charge a fee.
-
Spaceship theme
We make the stage look like a homemade spaceship, so we have a clear visual identity. We want people to remember their time at Robyn’s Rocket.
-
Live visual art
Rucksack Cinema (AKA Jaime) does video mixing and projections on to the walls and celling - with live art by an artist from Heart N Soul.
-
Feedback
We want to hear everyone’s (including artists) feedback. Positive and negative. You will find star shaped cards to write your feedback on, placed on the tables inside the venue.
-
Timetable
Some people feel happier when they know what is going to happen next. Some people need to plan their journey home. The timetable also offers a way for people to be able to match the artist with their merchandise on the merch table, using the shapes and colours.
-
Floor shapes
We use coloured shapes on the floor for people who struggle to see in dim light as you can feel them - and to help people to know where to queue. On the stage area, the shapes give you somewhere safe to stand if you find it hard to see cables on the floor.
-
social distancing badges
we use badges to tell other people your social distancing preferences.
-
streaming
There are lots of reasons why someone can’t come to a gigs so we stream online.
-
Kids play area
When we do sunday afternoon gigs, we have a play area for kids with toys divided between 0-3 and 3+
